EVENT: GLOBALS MAKE SOME NOISE - FESTIVE BUCKET COLLECTION

Globals Make Some Noise - Festive Bucket Collection

💡 What You’ll Be Doing:
🚨Global has partnered with the wonderful & iconic Carnaby Street this year to bring festive cheer & spread the word of Global’s Make Some Noise. 
This is to give vital support to those smaller UK charities, particularly at this time of year it is always so important. 

You will gain some hands-on event experience with our Global HQ team.

Global’s Make Some Noise improves lives by working with small charities across the UK. 

We believe everyone deserves to feel safe, feel well, feel included, and feel prepared. So we work across four key areas: providing shelter and safety, supporting physical and mental health, improving life skills, and preventing isolation.

AWARDS: SONY WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS

Sony World Photography Awards - Open Competition

💡 What You’ll Be Doing:

This competition is open to anyone who will be submitting single images taken in 2024. There are ten diverse categories to enter and you can enter up to three single images for free.

Prizes include $5,000, top Sony digital imaging equipment and so much more.

The Open competition rewards outstanding single images across ten (10) categories. Photographers should consider the category description when entering their work.  Judges are looking for good composition, creativity, and clear photographs.

💻 Who can apply? 

  • Anyone in the world, but under 16’s will need parental permission.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP: GOODNOTES - PRODUCT DESIGN

Goodnotes - Summer Product Design Internship

💡 What You’ll Be Doing:

Join Goodnotes 2025 Summer Internship Program and elevate your skills, connect with bright minds, and be a part of something big.

About the role:

Launch into the world of Product Design, User Experience, and User Interface Design with an Internship at Goodnotes.

Elevate your career with hands-on design experiences, shaping your ideas into reality. In this internship, you won't be an observer—you'll be at the heart of the design action. They are looking for London interns for 2 different teams:

1. Monetisation Product Designer:

You’ll join the team focused on innovating the way users engage with premium features and exploring new business models that align with user value. This team works on seamless, user-centric solutions for monetisation that make our product both sustainable and delightful to use.

2. Education Team Product Designer:

Jump into shaping the future of learning with the Education Team at Goodnotes. Here, we explore classroom innovations with Goodnotes at the core and reimagine textbooks through AI-driven self-learning advancements. This is a young, cutting-edge team working on foundational and revolutionary products.

  • Penultimate or final year student in a related field

GRANT: WINDRUSH LEGACIES

948: Windrush Legacies Grant

💡 What You’ll Be Doing:

The project, Windrush Legacies, is designed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Windrush through a contemporary lens.

948 will work specifically to address social, political + cultural issues through initiative-based projects and other digestible mediums

An independent judging panel will select two recipients of the 948 Windrush Legacies Grant, who will receive £2,500 to help bring a project to life that explores the theme of legacy—be it the one we inherit or the one we create.

They will pay tribute to the migration of Caribbean people who reshaped Britain’s cultural and creative landscape, empowering a new generation to carry this remarkable legacy forward.

💻 Who can apply? 

  • 18 years of age or older at the time of submission.

  • You must be a Windrush descendant*

  • DEADLINE - Sunday 8th December 2024

EVENT: APPRENTICESHIP CAFÉ

Apprenticeship Café:

💡 What You’ll Be Doing:

The café is designed for individuals who are considering a Degree Apprenticeship.

The workshop will provide you with a unique opportunity to learn the skills and the knowledge to get through the selection process and progress with your career.

  • Learn about what a Degree Apprenticeship is and how it is structured

  • CV Workshop – how to improve or design your CV

  • Application Support – looking at different applications and how you can make yours stand out

  • Interview Skills – Looking at interview techniques, including online and AI

  • Assessment process – Looking at assessment types used by employers and how to approach them.

💻 Who can apply? 

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade 9-4/A-C*) or Level 2 Functional Skills or equivalent. You can talk to our advisers who will guide you if you do not have these qualifications.

  • You will need to be working towards, or have already achieved Level 3 qualifications eg A level/BTEC/T-Level.

  • Professional qualifications with relevant work experience will be considered.

Funced Research Residency and Exhibition

💡 What You’ll Be Doing:

Åfjord is located on the Fosen Peninsula in the Trøndelag region of central Norway. Åfjord is inviting artists to live and work exploring the notion of PLACE. The artist selected will be invited on a fully funded residency to research and prepare a piece of work for the arts festival Åfjord Art Month in November 2025.

Winter School Workshops

What You’ll Be Doing:

💡 Come to our Colleges for creative activities and pre-university advice:

  • make work across art, design, fashion, communication and performing arts

  • experiment with a variety of traditional and innovative equipment or techniques

  • get honest advice from our students and graduates; find out about their creative journeys

  • discover how different each of our College campuses are and what they could offer you.

Activities are free to attend, and materials and refreshments are provided.

Generate new work for your portfolio.
3 Practical workshops in our specialist facilities.
Focus on 1 of these areas: short animation test 3D character development studio photography and zines find your voice- screenplay/film scripts using songs (music and lyrics) to generate artworks and illustrations.

Work closely with Editing, Grading, and Audio Dubbing to refine your skills.

Apprenticeship Qualification:
This role includes 80% on-the-job training at Sky and 20% off-the-job learning with London South Bank University. You’ll learn best practices in media ingest, storage, and secure digital dispatch. Upon completion, you’ll receive a nationally recognized qualification and will be assessed for operational competence.
