We’ve been away for a little break due to Half Term but we are BACK with your g:weekly bring it on!

We're excited to welcome Shahlaa Tahira, who joins Global Academy as the new Director of Careers and Industry Partnerships. Shahlaa will lead on all aspects of Careers, Industry Placements, Work Experience, and Guest Talks. She’ll be introducing herself to Year 12, Year 13, and Year 14 assemblies starting next week.

With a wealth of experience in media and entertainment, including roles at Global and BBC Radio, plus her own social, podcast, YouTube, and event brands, Shahlaa brings invaluable expertise to the college.

Year 12 Only: Apply for Global Inspire Mentoring!

The Global Inspire Mentoring Programme offers an unmissable opportunity to learn from the best at Global! This 4-month programme pairs 30 Year 12 students with experienced professionals who’ll help you explore every corner of the industry. As a mentee, you’ll get hands-on insight into radio, digital, and marketing departments and learn about roles you never knew existed.

Through workshops and one-to-one sessions, you’ll develop work-related skills, boost your creativity, and gain confidence in applying your talents to real-world projects. It’s all about helping you get career-ready, with guidance to reach your future goals. Whether you’re into broadcasting, social media, design, digital, or production, this experience is for you.
