Starting March 2024, New Creatives present New Curates!

New Curates is a programme which focuses on building the next generation of live event producers aged 16-21. The project explores the skills needed to put on your very own event in a collaborative environment at Rich Mix in Shoreditch.

Through industry talks, trips, networking, and weekly workshops, this programme will inspire you as a team to bring all your collective ideas to life.

Each week you will be building your inspiration and this event together, so these sessions are for a set group of young curators with a weekly commitment for the programme.

This programme is split into 3 sections:

  • Module 1: Inspiration & Preparation (Mar – May – 10 sessions) will get you inspired, talking, and exploring ideas.

  • Module 2: Curating the Takeover (Jun – Aug – 11 sessions) you will be in full curation mode for the final Takeover Festival here at Rich Mix.

  • Module 3: Career Inspiration & Employability (Sep – Dec – 11 sessions) will focus on Employability, with workshops and talks to both inspire and widen your career prospects.

Sessions take place weekly on Tuesdays, 5.30 – 8pm.

Explore this incredible online, industry-led course with the studio that created Chicken Run, Shaun the Sheep, and Wallace and Gromit! For over 40 years, Aardman has entertained and charmed the world, creating much loved characters and bringing unforgettable stories to life. Aardman Academy is a team of Aardman directors, producers, creatives and educators committed to encouraging talent into the industry by delivering world-class animated-related courses and skills development.

Aardman is offering 4 fully-funded course spaces. Their Industry Training course Stop Motion 1 involves 12-weeks of online guided teaching, supported by weekly practical tasks and Mentoring to build the right foundations and practical skills in character animation, delivered by a team of highly experienced tutors and mentors. In addition to all of the brilliant online course content, you will also be sent a Stop Motion 1 Course Kit (for you to keep!)

UAL Insights is the UAL’s outreach programme offering young people access to their Colleges for creative activities and pre-university advice - exclusively for Year 12 students at Global Academy.

Students must meet one or more of the following criteria to apply:

  • students whose parent(s) or guardian(s) have not completed a university degree

  • students who live in a priority postcode area (using the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD), areas in deciles 1 to 4)

  • students whose families receive benefits for living costs (including Universal Credit, Child Tax Credit, Free School Meals, Housing Benefit, Income Support, Income-based Job Seekers Allowance and Pupil Premium)

  • looked after children and care leavers.

The CrewHQ Trainee Programme is a brand-new scheme providing a pathway into a career in film and TV production.

Based on site at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, home to some of the biggest productions made in the UK such as The Batman, Barbie and Wonka, this programme will give you:

  • Behind the scenes access to Warner Bros. Discovery film and TV productions

  • Training from amazing industry experts

  • Chance to interview for paid placements on Warner Bros. Discovery productions currently filming

  • Networking opportunities with crew

The programme starts with training in our bespoke CrewHQ centre, based at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, to prepare you for work and give you support, awareness and skills in the following areas:

  • Set etiquette and resilience training for life on production

  • Understanding key production paperwork and terminology

  • Guidance on how to be a freelancer

  • Exploration of entry level roles and career pathways across many different departments

  • CV preparation and interview practice

MARKETING APPRENTICESHIP AT GOOGLE

As an Apprentice at Google, you'll build the skills you need to be prepared for the future of work. You’ll join the Marketing teams at Google for the duration of your 15 month apprenticeship. You’ll start in October with an initial onboarding period, then you’ll attend workshops with our partner Multiverse. During the program you’ll join a Google team for 80% of your time and complete your apprenticeship the other 20% of the time.

You’ll support implementing a data driven approach to campaigns, either with our agency partners or supporting our clients. You’ll use your data insights to continuously improve these campaigns. You’ll also get to collaborate with our internal teams to find new opportunities and utilize data to demonstrate these opportunities are viable. You’ll get to flex your creativity to develop creative strategies for campaigns, assisting the teams responsible for some of Google’s biggest products.
