Work Experience Opportunities

In partnership with Squarespace, I LIKE NETWORKING is hosting a free, digital workshop sharing the tips and tricks you need to elevate your online presence.

The workshop will be led by Tasha Dobbie, founder of The Square Agency - a London based digital design agency, focused on crafting custom, high-performance Squarespace websites.

At the workshop - you’ll learn about:

  • How to set up and claim a domain

  • Exploring templates, colour palettes and fonts

  • Uploading your own imagery or use the Squarespace library

  • How to put together email campaigns and more!

Tickets are FREE and the session is Tuesday 17th October at 5pm via Zoom.

Ever wanted to make your own skateboard?! Thanks to AYE Skateboards - you’ll get the chance to attend a face to face craft and design workshop to make a bespoke skateboard, to take home at the end of the day.

The workshop will cover all the steps of creating a skateboard!

  • Glucing the 7 layers of maple ply and pressing the glued layers in a hydraulic press

  • Cutting out your custom shape

  • Carving the deck

  • Drilling truck holes

  • Engraving artwork

  • Varnishing the deck

Once all is complete, the board is yours to use!

Alumni Workshop with Yaman Mohammed (LBC Digital Producer) and Stanley Thompson (The Fellas Studios) - Wednesday 11th October at 0915am

We are delighted to welcome back two ex-Global Academy students who are now doing great things in the media industry. Yaman Mohammed is currently the Digital Content Apprentice at LBC and Stanley Thompson is a Junior Video Editor at the Fellas Studios (home of Pitch Side, Saving Grace, Not my Bagg, Growing Paynes and Chloe Vs The World) and their session will include:

  • What did they learn in Year 13 about The Loop and how you can get involved?

  • Learn about how to deliver Live News ….

  • Learn how to make social media content…

Year 13: Come and hear about a variety of apprenticeships at Bloomberg!

This event will give you a unique opportunity to find out more about a number of opportunities across Finance, Technology, Data, Journalism, HR and Customer Service. We will help you find the best career path for you, understand how apprenticeship programmes work and how they can help you fast-track your career. Our apprentices will share their experiences on the programme and the recruitment team will give some hints and tips on how to do well in your recruitment process.

UAL Insights Open Evening

Why not go along to the upcoming UAL Insights Open Evening at the University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martins? It's the perfect opportunity for prospective students to get a better idea of what studying at UAL is like and how they can get involved in Insights programmes.

On the night - they will have current UAL students sharing their portfolios, as well as UAL tutors and the Insights team on hand to answer any burning questions. There will be light refreshments provided and you will be invited to attend a presentation to hear from student ambassadors, student finance and the Associate Dean of Outreach, Paul Glennon.

Their FREE programme offers you game-changing skills with unbeatable exposure to the creative industry from Design, Buying, Marketing, e-commerce, Graphic Design, Visual Merchandising, Sales, Finance, Merchandising and Social Media. They are inviting 30 young people to join our January programme based at our Kurt Geiger headquarters in London’s design district.
