Calling all Year 12s! Now is YOUR chance to get an industry mentor
As a mentee, you’ll have the chance to explore the world of media with the knowledge and experience from professionals within Global
You’ll be exposed to various departments across the business, learning about different roles and responsibilities. You’ll gain a clearer understanding of the creative nature of the industry and develop work-related skills through different workshops
These workshops, along with regular mentor support encourage self-development and ‘real world’ application to help you thrive in your aspirations for the future
All with the aim of supporting you, the future industry talent, before you leap into your media careers

Have you ever wondered how your favourite events are brought to life? What actually goes on 'behind the scenes'? Spend a week with at Fane to find out!
Fane produces live and online spoken word events with the most exciting names in culture and entertainment, specifically authors and podcasters. For example, Stanley Tucci (think Devil Wears Prada, Hungar Games!) writes a book about his life and career, and Fane create a live event for him to discuss his book on stage, interviewed by another famous name

Could you be the next big thing at Sky News? (18+ only)
If you’re over 18 years old and looking to launch a career in news journalism, then the Sky News work placement programme offers a fantastic opportunity to break into the industry.
The one week placement will give you the chance to get your foot in the door, work alongside talented colleagues in a busy multimedia news organisation, and help you to build your confidence, skills and experience. Placements will be for five days (mon-fri). If you are successful we can find a date that works for you. You will receive a small daily allowance to cover the cost of London public transport and a meal in a Sky restaurant. We may also consider requests for further financial support from those outside London.
To apply, please tell us in no more than 200 words why you want to work in news and one story you would love to cover, with details of how that would appear as a written article or TV report. Please upload this as an attachment in addition to your CV. Prior experience is not required so do not be put off from applying if this is the first step of your writing/journalism journey.

Where you’ll work:
You'll spend 4 days at our Osterley Campus, which is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers. On campus, you’ll find 13 subsidised restaurants, cafes, and a Waitrose.
You’ll also spend a day at Westminster discovering more about our political coverage.

Job Opportunities for Year 13 and Year 14 students
Have you considered a Degree Apprenticeship with the BBC? These fully-funded programmes you will receive a salary and benefits while you learn on-the-job and study for a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree over the course of 3-4 years with an annual salary of £25,475+.
For example - you could be a Broadcast and Media Systems Engineer - Become part of the next generation of media systems engineers helping the BBC to deliver content on TV, radio, online and other digital services.
The Chartered Management Degree apprenticeship is a pathway to Business Advisor or Coordinator roles within the BBC. Once on programme, you’ll play a key role in the projects, operations and/or service teams helping to deliver long term organisational success. As an apprentice you will gain hands on experience learning from professionals and achieve a degree and professional qualification. Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll be demonstrating your commitment to practicing ethical behaviour and continuous learning.
On completion, you will get an accredited Level 6 degree apprenticeship and a permanent position at the BBC.

They are inviting 30 young people to join our January programme based at our Kurt Geiger headquarters in London’s design district.
