Work Experience Opportunities

Ex Global Academy student and now the UK Gen Z Advisor at Dentsu Media is looking for two event volunteers at his next event - called Side Hustle-Mania.

This event will give the opportunity for Gen Z’s to pitch their side hustle business or idea to a panel board, with the chance to win a prize to help boost or accelerate their business. This event will take a Dragon’s Den type format, to give VIZ’s a chance to pitch their side hustle & be ranked based on their pitch performance + business plan.

Tyy is looking for 2 bright minds who are hungry to learn about the corporate world in Media & learn more about side hustles & entrepreneurship. He is looking for 2 Global Young Leaders to come to dentsu & help on the day, assisting him with the event & ensuring the day runs smoothly.

You will get the chance to meet dentsu’s very own CEO, insight into how to pitch for a business idea, networking with dentsu’s VIZ’s & the opportunity to meet the VIZ sponsors on the day (brands like Meta, Google, Pinterest & TikTok).. you will also get free food!

You may be asked to help film/make TikToks on the day that will be uploaded to all dentsu’s social media channels.

You may have heard this morning with Roman, Sian and Chris - Capital’s Jingle Bell is BACK. We’re looking for Global Academy runners to volunteer across the weekend in the events and video teams. Hype Collective is on the lookout for student illustrators and writers to join The Lookout magazine by Neighbourhood watch! Check out the latest edition of The Lookout here.

The Lookout is a termly magazine written by students for students. The Lookout gives advice on safety and wellbeing, how to get involved with local volunteering opportunities, and it’s full of  incredible stories of the amazing things students can do to bring their campus and local community together.

As an illustrator, we’ll need your artistic flair to help bring to life incredible student stories with captivating visuals. Or if you’re a talented writer, we’ll need you to enchant readers with your words, sharing inspiring accounts of being a student. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to be part of our creative community!

Who we’re looking for: We are looking for students who are aspiring writers or illustrators to work on this exciting project with us

When? We are looking for students to work across November 2023 - January 2024

Deliverables: One article between 300-600 words (for writers). One title illustration and 2 spot illustrations (for illustrators).

Pay: £150 (for writers), £200 (for illustrators)

This programme offers you the chance to apply for a possible 1-2 week placement on one of our shows, shadowing our teams and giving you first-hand insight into how a production comes together in a busy TV environment.

Have you considered a Degree Apprenticeship with the BBC? These fully-funded programmes you will receive a salary and benefits while you learn on-the-job and study for a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree over the course of 3-4 years with an annual salary of £25,475+.

For example - you could be a Broadcast and Media Systems Engineer - Become part of the next generation of media systems engineers helping the BBC to deliver content on TV, radio, online and other digital services.

The Chartered Management Degree apprenticeship is a pathway to Business Advisor or Coordinator roles within the BBC. Once on programme, you’ll play a key role in the projects, operations and/or service teams helping to deliver long term organisational success. As an apprentice you will gain hands on experience learning from professionals and achieve a degree and professional qualification. Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll be demonstrating your commitment to practicing ethical behaviour and continuous learning.

On completion, you will get an accredited Level 6 degree apprenticeship and a permanent position at the BBC.

More apprenticeships (Level 3 and 4) from the BBC will launch on November 16th.

Applications are now open for the Business by Design programme for 18+ students from the Kurt Geiger Kindness Foundation. Their FREE programme offers you game-changing skills with unbeatable exposure to the creative industry from Design, Buying, Marketing, e-commerce, Graphic Design, Visual Merchandising, Sales, Finance, Merchandising and Social Media. They are inviting 30 young people to join our January programme based at our Kurt Geiger headquarters in London’s design district. This first cohort will run until July 2024, with a second one following soon after. Deadline to apply is 12th November. Find out more and apply today
