Alumni Workshop with Yaman Mohammed (LBC Digital Producer) and Stanley Thompson (The Fellas Studios) - Wednesday 11th October at 0915am

We are delighted to welcome back two ex-Global Academy students who are now doing great things in the media industry. Yaman Mohammed is currently the Digital Content Apprentice at LBC and Stanley Thompson is a Junior Video Editor at the Fellas Studios (home of Pitch Side, Saving Grace, Not my Bagg, Growing Paynes and Chloe Vs The World) and their session will include:

  • What did they learn in Year 13 about The Loop and how you can get involved?

  • Learn about how to deliver Live News ….

Charlie Sloth and the team at Fire in the Booth on Apple Music 🔥 are looking for Global Academy students who are ready to take on freelance work with their team on upcoming FITB sessions and content pieces. This is a paid opportunity for those who are ready to take on professional work.

Want to get some work experience at Global HQ? Global are looking for some Global Academy students (aged 18+) to be part of the events and fundraising activities at Global HQ on Friday 6th October between 12pm - 4pm in the call centre.

If you’re in Year 13 or Year 14 and want to land some freelance work with Global as a Tech Operator for their music brands - then apply for our exciting Technical Operator Training Programme with Global. Launched today by Classic FM and Smooth Radio presenter - Margherita Taylor - this is YOUR chance to get some long-lasting industry experience and paid work outside of your lessons.

ITV are looking to host young people for some in person work experience placements this Half Term. These are open to all students from all schools - so make sure your application is strong when you submit it! The deadline is Thursday 5th October:

  • CRM Team - The CRM team sits within the wider media team and is responsible for communicating with ITVX users via email, push notifications and in-app messages.

  • Legal Team - Our team looks after the procurement of tech suppliers across ITV, ranging from core streaming suppliers to group tech suppliers and also a variety of different suppliers in the studio space.

  • Resourcing Team - As a Recruitment team, we’re passionate about helping people to build meaningful careers at all levels of the business. We pride ourselves on recruiting the very best talent for ITV and our team brings that to life.

  • Learning and Development Team - As the Development and Wellbeing team, we're passionate about empowering our colleagues with the skills and resources they need to thrive at ITV. We create and deliver learning and development opportunities that are designed to promote wellbeing and support our More than TV strategy

This event will give you a unique opportunity to find out more about a number of opportunities across Finance, Technology, Data, Journalism, HR and Customer Service. We will help you find the best career path for you, understand how apprenticeship programmes work and how they can help you fast-track your career. Our apprentices will share their experiences on the programme and the recruitment team will give some hints and tips on how to do well in your recruitment process.

Why not go along to the upcoming UAL Insights Open Evening at the University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martins? It's the perfect opportunity for prospective students to get a better idea of what studying at UAL is like and how they can get involved in Insights programmes.

On the night - they will have current UAL students sharing their portfolios, as well as UAL tutors and the Insights team on hand to answer any burning questions. There will be light refreshments provided and you will be invited to attend a presentation to hear from student ambassadors, student finance and the Associate Dean of Outreach, Paul Glennon.

Their FREE programme offers you game-changing skills with unbeatable exposure to the creative industry from Design, Buying, Marketing, e-commerce, Graphic Design, Visual Merchandising, Sales, Finance, Merchandising and Social Media. They are inviting 30 young people to join our January programme based at our Kurt Geiger headquarters in London’s design district.
